Icelandic Music That I like: Gin og Greip by Boogie Trouble

I think I will have to start this post with a disclaimer: If you are too cool for disco music and some boogie – this song is probably not for you.

Boogie Trouble is a relatively new on the scene but it’s members have played and still play with different Icelandic bands  The front woman, Klara, also happens to be one of my former work mates and Ólöf Arnalds’s sister.

Boogie Trouble draws its inspiration from the seventies and the band’s mission is to revive the disco in the new millennium. At least that’s what they say on their Facebook page. They recently released their first single, Gin og Greip, and although I’m not known for being a special disco enthusiast – I like it. Fun and catchy.

Gin og greip references a popular drink from the disco era – Gin and grape juice – which sounds to me like a terrible combination.
